The team at The Automated Technology Group’s Slovakian base are celebrating an order from PSA Group, Europe’s number two automotive manufacturer with brands including Peugeot and Citroën. The project for PSA’s plant in Trnava, Slovakia, will take place during the four-week summer closure in August 2017.
Secured by Jozef Moravec, Project Manager for ATG Slovakia, the order is for robot-programming services for a number of manufacturing line upgrades. The work will be carried out within strict and demanding time frames by ATG’s team of Slovakian programmers – working out of the company’s new office in Nitra – supported by Rob Green, Senior Robotics Engineer from ATG’s head office in Silsoe, UK.
Commenting on the order, Darren Ashford, Managing Director of ATG Slovakia, said: “We are delighted to have secured this order, which has opened the door to further talks with PSA about opportunities for ATG to assist with future turnkey projects. The Wood Group and ATG brands are highly regarded by senior executives at PSA, who are keen to develop our relationship further, which we are really excited about.”
The Automated Technology Group launched its Slovakian business – its first operation outside of the UK – in late 2015 with the aim of supporting automation projects in Slovakia and the surrounding region. Proximity to Western European markets, the availability of skilled labour and a wealth of university research facilities have attracted a large number high-tech and automotive corporations to this region in recent years.
