Following months of preparation, a team from The Automated Technology Group has enjoyed a very successful and busy three days at the NEC in Birmingham for the PPMA Show, the UK’s premier exhibition for processing and packaging technologies.
“We met a large number of key decision-makers and engineers from a wide variety of industries looking to integrate automation into their manufacturing processes,” said Greg Harper, Proposals Engineer for ATG’s Systems division. “This year’s show was billed as the biggest ever, and the footfall to our stand certainly indicated this was the case. Our Connect Four Challenge – with visitors pitted against a single-arm robot – was fantastic for drawing attention to our stand. We were then able to demonstrate to visitors ATG’s expertise in integrating robots and special-purpose machinery to provide turnkey automation solutions.”
Along with presence from the Systems division, representatives from ATG’s Controls and Simulation business units were also on the stand, with all parties coming away with positive leads. “We had a flying start,” explained Greg Harper, “as we even discussed an enquiry on the build-up day at the start of the week! Over the course of the show, we captured enquiries from over 50 different companies. It was a great opportunity to discuss the future of automation technology and ATG’s capabilities with these potential clients and many others including engineering students, suppliers and other exhibitors. Now the ATG team is eagerly processing and validating the enquiries.”
